Jack Van Benthuysen Memorial Bird Pond
Jack Van Benthuysen (1925-1998) was one of St. Louis's most avid birders, and coauthor of Birds of the St. Louis Area - Where and When to Find Them. As for many area birders, Tower Grove Park was one of his favorite destinations. With monetary contributions received in Jack's memory, and donations of labor and supplies, the WGNSS has built a small bird-friendly pond in Tower Grove Park to provide some additional habitat for the many migrant birds that use the park as a stopover.
