the Missouri Dept. of Conservation, approved the establishment
of a nature study area in Busch Wildlife in memory of James
F. Comfort, to be erected by the Audubon Society of 
Missouri and the Webster Groves Nature Study Society.
INDEXER'S NOTE:  James F. (Jim) Comfort was the brother 
of  J. Earl Comfort.  Jim Comfort was killed at Busch Wildlife while
birding on Dec. 17, 1975, when his pick-up truck, apparently not
left in "park", rolled over him.  See Nature Notes, Feb. 76, p. 9.

Feb. 77 WGNSS general meeting,8 PM, Friday, Feb. 11, St. Louis 
County Library.  Mike Gasparovic, St. Louis County Park
ranger, will present a slide program on birds, botany and nature
photography.
Mar. 77 WGNSS general meeting, 8 PM, Friday, March 11, St. Louis
County Library.  Speaker will be Diana Hallett (daughter of  Vi and
Floyd Hallet), who will speak on the subject:  "Ecology of the 
Coyote in Missouri".
May. 77 WGNSS general meeting, 8 PM, Friday, May 13, St. Louis
County Library. Hugh Null, Manager of the Calhoun County 
section of the Mark Twain National Wildlife Refuge, will talk about
his experiences as a bird bander in Canada during the summer of
1976,
Sep. 77 WGNSS general meeting, 8 PM, Friday, Sept. 9, St. Louis
County Library.  Program will be a slide presentation on New
England by Carolyn Trice, an American Airlines "Kiwi".
Oct. 77 WGNSS general meeting, 8 PM, Friday, Oct. 14, St. Louis
County Library.  David Bedan of the Sierra Club and the Coalition
for the Environment will present a slide-tape show on the
Mississippi River.
Nov. 77 WGNSS general meeting, 8 PM, Friday, Nov. 11, St. Louis County
Library.  Bertha and Joel Massie will talk about "Sri Lanka - 
Ancient Cities, Birds, and Mountains."
